The Air Gateway Assistant role at UPS ensures efficient and secure handling of air cargo, supporting the company’s commitment to safety, compliance and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the loading and unloading of cargo from aircraft, ensuring timely, secure and safe transfers to and from various transportation modes.
• Manage teams of employees across operations and ensure compliance with aviation regulations, safety protocols and security measures.
• Administer inventory controls, audit cargo documentation and utilize specialized ground support equipment to optimize operational efficiency.
• Monitor overall cost and financial impact, building alliances with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives.
• Enhance procedures, provide oversight of training programs and performance standards, and act as a subject‑matter expert in regulated locations.
• Apply a broader understanding of the UPS network to adjust local activities, address contingencies and improve service reliability.
• Serve as a SME in regulated locations, evaluating processes, managing risk and ensuring ongoing compliance with laws and industry regulations.
