Khmer Interpreter – Remote (Work from Home)

About the role

We are seeking a fluent Khmer‑English interpreter to deliver real‑time, consecutive interpretation for a wide range of inbound calls, including medical, emergency (911), and general service inquiries. The position is fully remote, allowing you to work from home while supporting clients in high‑pressure, sensitive situations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consecutive interpretation between Khmer and English via phone or video calls.
• Accurately convey meaning, tone, and intent in real time across sectors such as healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel, law enforcement, courts, and general business.
• Process information quickly, recognize cultural nuances, and maintain a professional, courteous demeanor.
• Apply appropriate industry terminology and follow established procedural guidelines.

Required profile

• Fluent in Khmer with at least B2‑level English (CEFR).
• Excellent listening, memory retention, and note‑taking abilities.
• Ability to stay neutral, objective, and calm during sensitive or emergency calls.
• Strong focus, adherence to client instructions, and capacity to explain cultural context when needed.
• Availability to work night‑shift hours from a permanent home‑based setup.

Required skills

• Consecutive interpretation (Khmer ↔ English).

What we offer

• Training allowance of USD 625 for a three‑week onboarding program.
• Basic salary of USD 1,610 per month under an ICA contract.
