Child Protection Intern – Phnom Penh

About the role

The Child Protection Intern will support UNICEF’s Child Protection Section in Phnom Penh, assisting the international consultant and the national team with translation, documentation and administrative tasks related to the development of a Royal Decree and related regulatory framework for the social service workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Provide translation services for drafts of the Royal Decree and related knowledge papers.
• Assist in reviewing, revising and presenting the draft decree to national and sub‑national stakeholders.
• Support the update of the existing Prakas by consolidating inputs, preparing documentation and coordinating consultations.
• Collect, summarize and document feedback from consultations and prepare meeting notes and correspondence.
• Maintain filing, archiving and document‑management systems for the project.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, the 3rd year or higher in Social Work, Law or a related field.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities with attention to detail.
• Interest in regulatory framework development for social service workforces.
• Commitment to UNICEF’s mission and values, including respect for diversity, child rights and safeguarding.

• Full‑time 6‑month internship (October 2026 – February 2027), Monday‑Friday, 8 hours per day.
• Monthly stipend of USD 300.
