Assistant Japanese Food Merchandiser (English & Khmer)

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Japanese Food Merchandiser who can bridge Japanese product lines with the local market using English and Khmer. The role supports product assortment, planning, import coordination and promotional activities for Japanese food items.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and source new Japanese product assortments.
• Develop schematic and product plans, including order and promotion planning.
• Manage import processes, negotiate with Japanese suppliers and coordinate with local warehouses.
• Oversee the sweets and gift corner, handling inventory, visual displays and order fulfillment.
• Organise and execute Japan Fair events, including schedule management, budgeting and contract drafting.
• Translate product ingredient descriptions and marketing materials into English and Khmer.
• Prepare purchase orders and support billing activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in retail, merchandising or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a comparable merchandising or product‑planning role.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent written and spoken Khmer and English.
• Creative, detail‑oriented and able to inspire team members.
• Willingness to work rotating weekends or holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with merchandising or product‑planning systems.
