Senior Node.js Software Engineer – Remote (Worldwide)

About the role

We are looking for a senior Node.js Software Engineer to join Tether’s remote team and help shape the future of digital finance. You will work on our peer‑to‑peer (P2P) stack, expanding an ecosystem that includes more than 1,500 public npm modules and a highly modular codebase.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production‑scale Node.js services for the P2P platform.
• Create, publish, and manage reusable npm modules that power internal and external applications.
• Write clean, modular, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Implement comprehensive testing and debugging strategies to ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with a globally distributed team, participating in code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Contribute to performance optimisation of network protocols, latency, and throughput.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and operating large‑scale Node.js applications.
• Strong ability to write modular, maintainable code and manage reusable npm packages.
• Deep interest or hands‑on experience with P2P technologies or distributed systems.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working remotely with an international team.
• Preferred: experience with native Node.js extensions (C/C++), advanced networking concepts, and contributions to open‑source projects.
