Senior Branch Audit Officer

About the role

The Senior Branch Audit Officer will lead audit engagements at the bank's head office, overseeing the full audit cycle from planning to reporting. The role requires strong analytical abilities, teamwork, and the authority to make value‑added recommendations that enhance risk management, governance, and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a thorough understanding of assigned business processes and document them using flowcharts or narratives.
• Identify inherent risks and existing controls, and create risk‑based audit programs.
• Conduct audit testing, prepare working papers, and evaluate control design and effectiveness in line with IIA standards.
• Document findings, propose practical recommendations, and ensure clear, accurate audit reports.
• Participate in opening and closing meetings with audit partners and stakeholders.
• Organise work papers for review and submit timely audit finding reports.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the direct manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Law or a related field.
• Minimum four years of audit experience in finance, law, or credit, preferably within the financial industry.
• Professional certifications such as CAT, ACCA, CPA, CFA, CIA or legal qualifications are an advantage.
• Strong leadership, project management, and independent judgment.
• Good knowledge of NBC laws and regulations; credit‑risk knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
