Officer, Research and Development

About the role

The Officer, Research and Development will lead the creation and optimisation of packaging solutions, ensuring product quality and compliance with standards. This role supports new product launches and continuous improvement of existing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research to innovate and optimise packaging material processes for cost efficiency.
• Develop new products and processes, and improve existing ones to meet company and customer goals.
• Establish and update standard operating procedures, technical standards, and quality control criteria.
• Collect, analyse, and report data from research projects.
• Organise research documentation for traceability.
• Oversee scale‑up of product prototypes to achieve market‑ready cost efficiency.
• Define specifications for raw materials, packaging, equipment, and tools to maintain high manufacturing standards.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by superiors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Food Science, Agro‑Industry or related field (Master’s/PhD preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work or research experience.
• Strong attention to detail, accountability, and result‑orientation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow compliance requirements.

Required skills

• Food product formulation
• Food packaging and production processes
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001
• Understanding of GMP and HACCP standards
