Card Schemes Product Manager

About the role

The Card Schemes Product Manager will lead digital banking initiatives linked to major card payment schemes such as Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay International and JCB. Acting as the primary liaison between external scheme partners, internal product teams and the bank’s card and merchant divisions, the role ensures that scheme‑related projects are delivered on time and meet all business, technical and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all card‑scheme initiatives within Digital Banking, covering both issuing and acquiring streams.
• Manage end‑to‑end delivery of scheme‑related digital projects, from planning and requirement gathering to testing, certification and launch.
• Translate card and merchant business needs into digital channel features, user journeys and product requirements.
• Work closely with the Card and Merchant Division to align on business priorities, scheme obligations and operational expectations.
• Facilitate communication between payment‑scheme partners and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of timelines, risks and deliverables.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, status reports and implementation plans.
• Identify and resolve project risks, blockers and dependencies in collaboration with relevant teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing end‑to‑end delivery of digital banking or payment‑scheme projects.
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills across product, technology, compliance, risk and operations teams.
• Deep understanding of card issuing, merchant acquiring and the obligations of major payment networks.
• Ability to translate technical specifications and scheme mandates into clear business and implementation requirements.
